She's played 98 concerts in six months, so it's little surprise that Rihanna is ready for a rest.

And in a bid to give her body a break the 23-year-old has ditched her towering Louboutins for some more sensible footwear.

Before leaving the UK for Barbados this Christmas the singer stuffed cases full of designs from Somerset footwear brand Clarks.

The British manufacturer, who has been making shoes for almost two centuries, has successfully revamped its image over recent years attracting numerous celebrity admirers including the Artic Monkeys and Florence Welch.
A source told The Sun: 'Rihanna returned home with a stash of sensible shoes from Clarks.
'She's been wearing towering heels throughout her Loud tour which has taken its toll on her feet.
'She's been suffering all sorts of aches and pains so she's going easy on her feet while she's off.
'She loves Clarks so she thought she'd treat her family to a pair each.

'Her new-found love for them has become a bit of an in-joke for her friends too.'
The Arctic Monkeys who are also known to be Clarks fans and have been spotted wearing the Original desert boots priced at £79.
