On Saturday morning, 7am EAT, SuperSport 4 on DStv will become a 24-hour channel dedicated to the 2012 Africa Cup of Nations.
SuperSport will broadcast live all 32 matches from Gabon and Equatorial Guinea, for the first time in High Definition, in the search for a new ruler of African football following the demise of Egypt.
All 32 matches will be live on SuperSport 4 with the overflow from matches played simultaneously (in the latter rounds of the group stages) carried live on SuperSport 6, Blitz and Maximo.

The home of African football, SuperSport 9, while not a 24-hour channel, will mirror SuperSport 4 closely, broadcasting all live events from the tournament which includes two magazine shows, Hello Africa and Master Plan.
From the World of Champions’ state-of-the-art High Definition Studio 6, the quintet of Robert Marawa, Carol Radul, Charles Anazodo, Carol Tshabalala and Thomas Mlambo will take the viewers on a magical 23-day journey across the West Africa coast which will culminate with the crowning of the kings of African football.
A distinguished panel of experts comprising former champions at African football’s biannual spectacle, in Mark Williams, Stephen Keshi, Doctor Khumalo, Daniel Amokachi, Neil Tovey, Efan Ekoku and Andre Arendse, former players who made a lasting impact at the tournament, like Dennis Lota, Benni McCarthy, Antoine Bell, Samuel Osei Kuffour and Davies Phiri, along with experts on African football Major David Bright and Mamadou Gaye, are all coming for the ride.
Closely monitoring the progress of all 16 participants directly from Malabo, Franceville, Bata and Libreville will be the quartet of James Wokabi, Thomas Kwenaite, Chisom Mbonu and Rui Almeida.
Before the journey begins with the opening ceremony On Saturday from 7.30pm EAT, SuperSport will take the viewer’s down memory lane with the broadcast of the opening ceremony, semi-finals and final of both Ghana 2008 and Angola 2010.
