A parliamentary hearing on the controversial appointments of the 47 county commissioners failed to take off Tuesday after ministers asked for more time to “consult”.
Justice minister Eugene Wamalwa held brief for his colleagues –Prof George Saitoti of Internal Security and Attorney General Githu Muigai – in the meeting with Parliament’s Constitutional Implementation Oversight Committee.
Mr Wamalwa told the MPs that the ministers will meet tomorrow (Wednesday) to work out a comprehensive statement on the appointments, which MPs have termed as unconstitutional.
However, the Executive insists they are legal.
