President Uhuru Kenyatta will on Saturday afternoon travel to Arusha, Tanzania in his first foreign tour since he was sworn into office to attend the 11th Extraordinary Summit of East African Community (EAC) Heads of State and Government.
During the summit the heads of state will deliberate on the appointment of a new EAC deputy Secretary-General from Kenya. The meeting will consider the progress report of the council of ministers on negotiations for the establishment of the East African Monetary Union and the report on the proposal by the Bureau of Speakers to upgrade the bureau into an organ of the East African Community.
They will also deliberate on the appointment of new judges of the East African Court of Justice from the Republic of Burundi and the Republic of Rwanda.
