Police Wednesday evening shot and killed 3 suspected gangsters and recovered an AK-47 rifle at Mbaruk area along Nairobi-Nakuru highway, area  OCPD Bernad Kioko confirms.
Police say the gang had been trailing a lorry ferrying electronic goods when they were intercepted at Mbaruk trading centre following a tipoff.
The gang is said to have been operating between Nakuru and Nyahururu for sometime before they were nabbed at about 9.00pm Wednesday.
Mr Kioko said that police acting on a tip off laid an ambush and immediately struck at gang that was donning jungle uniforms.
The area police last year killed four robbers who had broken into the home of an Asian man in the area.
