Though the attention at dinner should have been on President Barack Obama and the international economic agenda that was the heart of the Hawaiian summit, First Lady Michelle Obama stole the spotlight with a gorgeous off-the-shoulder dress.

The knee-length dress paired pink and grey together, continuing Michelle's tendency to combine varying palettes to her advantage.

Dressing to match her surroundings, Mrs Obama enjoyed the warm Hawaiian weather and chose a dress that was essentially strapless, given that the one sleeve fell off her shoulder and was purely decorative.

The light pink complemented her skin tone and the cut of the dress served as the perfect showcase for her enviable arms.

She paired the dress with dangling earrings and a unique chunky jewel bracelet, opting to go without a necklace and keep her neckline and collarbone bare. The dress had a bedazzled belt separating the two grey tones, keeping with the somewhat geometric proportions of the outfit.

Jewelled touches: Her opal-looking bracelet and matching earrings and ring were nice touches to the outfit, seen here as she and the President greet Russian President Dmitry Medvedev.
