A cross section of African Leaders Malaria Alliance (ALMA) leaders at the working session luncheon at the Africa Union Summit during which out-going Chairman President Jakaya Mrisho Kikwete handed over the ALMA chair to President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf in the side-lines of the AU Summit in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. ALMA is an alliance of African Heads of State and Government working to end malaria-related deaths. This body was founded by African Heads of State to utilize their individual and collective power across country and regional borders.
President Jakaya Kikwete makes his opening speech and give the status of Malaria. Others from left is the new AU Chairman President of Benin, the Executive Secretary of ALMA, Ms Joy Phumaphi , new ALMA Chair and President of Liberia Madame Ellen Johnson Sirleaf, and newly elected ALMA Vice Chair and President of Mozambique, Mr Armando Guebuza.
