Scary: The 31-year-old has spoken out about how scary the experience was when he was rushed to hospital last month

He was rushed to hospital last month and doctors found two blood clots on his lungs.
But Nick Cannon has revealed he is suffering ongoing health problems.
The 31-year-old actor has said his kidney disease was a result of an 'autoimmune disease'.According to People magazine: Mariah Carey's husband said: 'They kind of say [my] autoimmune [disease] is – like a lupus type of thing, but no one else in my family has it.

Speaking about being rushed to hospital last February the comedian and rapper told the magazine: 'I feel blessed to be alive.If it wasn't discovered, I don't know [what would have happened].'


Nick also described how he reacted when he learned he had blood clots on his lungs and said it was a terrifying experience.

He said: 'The blood clot thing was probably the scariest because ... I've known people who have passed away from that.'

'I thought I was getting better and then that happened, so that kind of came out of nowhere.'

After the father-of-two was rushed to hospital in February Nick quickly returned to work at his New York based radio show - but he later stepped down from the show to focus on his recovery.
And his ongoing problems have meant that he is now fully committed to looking after himself and the star said he is putting his health first.

Last night Nick and Mariah stepped out at Gotham Hall in New York ahead of a performance for the Escape to Total Rewards event.
