Kenya's Geoffrey Kipsang and fellow Kenyan runner Priscah Jeptoo won the half marathon Sunday in Colombia's capital Bogota, in the men's and women's categories.

As many as 44,000 runners took part in the race, which also saw the second and third spots in the men's race go to Kenyan runners.

Kipsang handily won with a time of one hour, 30 minutes and 46 seconds, a full 12 seconds ahead of also Kenyan Peter Kirui.

Third place went to Kenya's Kiplimo Kimutai.



In the women's race, Jeptoo won with a time of one hour, 12 minutes and 24 seconds, followed by Peru's Ines Melchor in second place and Ethiopia's Amare Gobena in third.
Jeptoo was the winner of the silver medal in the marathon at the London 2012 Olympic Games.

"I am improving my performance, these are the results of work, I felt very good in Bogota," Jeptoo said after the race.
